What Rudd Government didn't achieve

The Wall Street Journal describes Kevin Rudd as Australia's climate moralist-in-chief. (Link in title) This is an obvious reference to his previous "greatest moral challenge of our times" statement. They go on to say:

Mr. Rudd's about-face raises serious questions about the courage of his political convictions;

In November, Mr. Rudd declared it would be "absolute political cowardice" to delay cap-and-trade
.

Little wonder the Rudd government tried to bury cap-and-trade by announcing a big crackdown on tobacco companies yesterday.

They are right about him trying to bury the ETS with his great big new tax on tobacco, but this tax also will bring in the billions that he threw at the states to get them to agree to his Titanic-Deck-Chair-like shuffle of the financing of healthcare.

Meanwhile, closer to home, a letter writer, Shane Budden to the Australian has also accused Mr Rudd of moral cowardice.

History will show George W Bush was right

From Telegraph UK - by Andrew Roberts:

"The decisions taken by Mr Bush in the immediate aftermath of that ghastly moment (9/11) will be pored over by historians for the rest of our lifetimes. One thing they will doubtless conclude is that the measures he took to lock down America's borders, scrutinise travellers to and from the United States, eavesdrop upon terrorist suspects, work closely with international intelligence agencies and take the war to the enemy has foiled dozens, perhaps scores of would-be murderous attacks on America.   .... the obvious fact that there was a good case for invading Iraq based on 14 spurned UN resolutions, massive human rights abuses and unfinished business following the interrupted invasion of 1991 will be recalled.

Similarly, the cold light of history will absolve Bush (and John Howard - tb) of the worst conspiracy theory accusation: that he knew there were no WMDs in Iraq. History will show that, in common with the rest of his administration, the British Government, Saddam's own generals, the French,Chinese, Israeli and Russian intelligence agencies  ... "

(and Kevin747Rudd 'Are there weapons of mass destructions - Of Course!'  and also our own home grown weapons Inspector and failed state Governor Richard Butler who said he knew where they were -tb)

Experts Warn of Global Cooling

Video of Joe D'Aleo (Icecap) and Jay Lehr (Heartland Institute)

D'Aleo: "If you look at the satellite data, .... 2008 was the 14th coldest in 30 years."

Lehr: "Not only in a Cooling period; we're going to be staying in it for a couple of decades."
"Hopeful that this change in the sun's output will put some common sense into the       legislature - not to pass any cap-and-tradr or carbon tax legislation that will set us in a far deeper hole."

Good Advice also for Kevin747Rudd and Penny Wong.

Barack Obama’s Polluted Mind -No More Alcohol?

From LewRockwell.com's  Eric Englund:

"Barack Obama intends to officially classify carbon dioxide as a "dangerous pollutant." ....
"Once President Obama declares carbon dioxide to be a dangerous pollutant, every single American brewery, winery and distillery will be, by definition a "dangerous polluter."

As will every citizen who drinks Cola or even exhales!

"Thus if manmade carbon dioxide output must be drastically reduced to save the planet and humanity itself, then President Obama must strongly consider reinstating alcohol prohibition...
Al Gore, to date, hasn't had the guts to push the global-warming scam to the point of suggesting global alcohol prohibition and I highly doubt President Obama has the guts to do so in the U.S. Both these political hacks, after all, are socialists and are certainly not in love with mother Erth and humanity, but with power and celebrity.

So, over to you Barack and while we're at it, over to you Kevin747.

Garnault sells his own report to Government

From Australian Climate Madness Website:

"In yet another appalling example of the waste of taxpayers' money on climate change, The Australian has revealed that, having given $2.3million of your tax dollars to Ross Garnault to prepare his tedious tome, the Government has now handed over the rights, for free, to the Cambridge University Press to sell it worldwide on a commercial basis, with precisely zero profits being returned to the Government. Which means, in a ludicrous turn of events, that the Government's Department of Climate Change had to buy its own copies, at a cost of more than $65,000 (paid for again by yet more of your tax dollars.)"

More Waste on the non existent AGW by the ever wrong Penny Wong and the Kevin747 Government"

Fred's Fearless Forecast -2009

From Joe D'Aleo's ICECAP;

S Fred Singer Ph.D., President, Science and Environmental Policy Project  - forecasts for 2009

"Obama's three - Chu, John Holdren and Jane Luchenco. All with sterling credentials - a Nobel laureate in physics, a recent president of the AAAS, a recent head of the International Council of Scientific Unions - but with minmal knowledge of climate science, except what they may have gleaned from reading the IPCC summary."  ...

"I think that Obama is much too smart to devote political capital to doomed climate legislation. ...  Climate science isn't going to figure prominently in the congressional debates - alas; it's all about economics and politics."

Like Kevin747, talk it up before you get in, but whimp out on the practical at action time!

Bob Brown condemns Mr Rudd

Bob Brown has said today (15/12/08) that the Ruddudd's carbon (dioxide) targets means the end of The Great Barrier and Kakadu. How does this line up with the fact that China is adding more CO2 "pollution" each week than Australia puts out in a year. Our "carbon footprint" is so insignificant that we could wipe out the whole population, close down every factory, stop all animals from exhaling and it would not make the slightest bit of difference. Co2 is only about 3% of greenhouse gasses and the anthropogenic part of that Co2 is also around 3% and Australia's contribution to that 3% of 3% is so small that you could not count the amount.

So, Mr Brown, how is it that, if we reduce our virtual zero anthropogenic Co2 by 5% it will not make a difference but if we reduce it by 25% we will save the Great Barrier Reef and Kakadu?

Howard, Rudd, Obama, Terrorism

The Times (UK) today reports that Barack Obama should brace himself for a terrorist attack.
The Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism states "Our margin of safety is shrinking, not growing.....The United States should be...far more concerned that biologists will become terrorists."

On many occasions Mr KRudd  has tried to condemn Mr Howard for his suggestion that al-Qaeda would be praying for Barack Obama to become US President. Mr KRudd, however, did not ridicule Obama's running mate, Joe Biden, who, around the same time said: "We're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.

The Left vs the Looney Left

Larry Buttrose - The Australian 27/11/08.

"No-one could accuse the Left of long sentimental honeymoons. It took less than a fortnight for stories about (Obama) as a possible lackey of the usual overlords."

"A year ago, the shiraz-hued flush of euphoria had hardly subsided from the faces of some of my friends and colleagues before they started denouncing Kevin Rudd."

Why didn't they ask us in the right on the right? We could have set them right in both cases.
(Incidently, what happened to the Chardonay Sipping?)

Rudd, Julia Gillard and their team were the ones who defeated Howard...."

However, they would not have done it without the Looney Left - the Green Party Preferences

Rudd and extreme capitalism

"Rudd has grown attached to his description of the crisis as a result of 'extreme capitalism.'
That's akin to saying the Titanic sank because of extreme sailing. .... The cause of the calamity was bad policy...." says Peter Hartcher in SMH 28/11/08 (Link above)

I say KRudd is a result of extreme egotism.

Piers Ackerman on No Einstein Rudd

Piers says KRudd is no Einstein.

Look out Piers, you will be in trouble for revealing state secrets.
