The seas are rising, We'll all be inundated.
Yesterday, on the Insiders, the following conversation took place between Climate Alarmists David "we'll all fry" Marr and Fran Kelly.
Marr: "This week the Australian had a nice bloke from Bondi who'd been swimming at Bondi for years..... They had his picture on the front page saying, you know, I've been swimming at Bondi for 30 years and I haven't noticed the ocean come up."
Kelly: "Nonsense!"
Marr: "Complete Nonsense!"
Meanwhile, on the same day, over in the UK, the Climate Alarmist Newspaper Guardian had an article headed: Climate scientists withdraw journal claims of rising sea levels
Study claimed in 2009 that sea levels would rise by up to 82cm by the end of century – but the report's author now says true estimate is still unknown
The article concludes:
In a statement the authors of the paper said: "Since publication of our paper we have become aware of two mistakes which impact the detailed estimation of future sea level rise. This means that we can no longer draw firm conclusions regarding 21st century sea level rise from this study without further work.
"One mistake was a miscalculation; the other was not to allow fully for temperature change over the past 2,000 years. Because of these issues we have retracted the paper and will now invest in the further work needed to correct these mistakes."
In the Nature Geoscience retraction, in which Siddall and his colleagues explain their errors, Vermeer and Rahmstorf are thanked for "bringing these issues to our attention".
Meanwhile, the World's leading Sea Level expert, Nils-Axel Morner maintains that sea levels are not rising. "...we can see that the sea level was indeed rising, from, let us say, 1850 to 1930-1940. And that rise had a rate in the order of 1 millimeter per year; 1.1 is the exact figure. Not more.
So, we have this 1 mm per year up to 1930, by observation, and we have it by rotation recording. So we go with those two. They go up and down, but there’s no trend in it; it was up until 1930, and then down again. There’s no trend, absolutely no
trend."
The Rudd government lied and lied to gain power and then his lurching from disaster to disaster was so bad that his party axed him. Julia Gillard succeeded and since has lurched from disaster to disaster and lied and lied. Present and past lurches and lies will be recorded here

Warming or Cooling? Hans Labohm
From The web site of Roger Helmer; Member of the European Parliament
First the bad news and then the good. Everybody knows through the media as well as Al Gore's ‘documentary’, ‘An inconvenient truth’, that the rise of worldwide temperatures is accelerating and a climate catastrophe is imminent. Everyone knows that mankind is causing CO2 to accumulate in the atmosphere as a result of burning fossil fuels. Everyone also knows that all scientists agree about the AGW (Anthropogenic Global Warming) hypothesis and that we should take urgent action to prevent a climate disaster. Everyone knows that sea levels are rising rapidly and that low-lying countries like the Netherlands will shortly be inundated. Everyone also knows that millions of plant and animal species are threatened with extinction; in particular the polar bear, which is the poster child of global warming.
Now the good news: none of these statements is true.
Tens of thousands of scientists are of the opinion that mankind is not to blame for climate change. Everybody acknowledges that the climate is indeed changing. But that is nothing new and will probably continue as long as the earth exists. But it has nothing to do with humanity.

HometownAnnapolis Wrong about AGW
In an article entitled "Eric Hartley: A first step toward a cleaner Maryland" datedMonday, February 9, 2009, some strange statements were made.
"There are skeptics, of course - people who argue the science on climate change is still unclear. "
"We know for a fact that our greenhouse gas emissions - man-made - are increasing," (Secretary of the Environment Shari) Wilson said. "The science today tells us that there's a correlation between (them and climate change). So we have to act."
Well, sorry, but the sceptics know that the science is clear. The IPCC has had 20 years to find a causal link between Global Warming and Greenhouse gases including CO2 without success. Whereas the Vostok Ice Core samples show that rise in CO2 follows rise in temperature. F-O-L-L-O-W-S... get it?
"Think of this logic. If, say, Al Gore is wrong, ...."
Well, substantially wrong, with 41 inconvenient untruths in his inCONvenient movie. British courts ruled that in order for the film to be shown, the Government must first amend their Guidance Notes to Teachers to make clear that
1.) The Film is a political work and promotes only one side of the argument.
2.) If teachers present the Film without making this plain they may be in breach of section 406 of the Education Act 1996 and guilty of political indoctrination.
3.) Eleven inaccuracies have to be specifically drawn to the attention of school children.
"(Wilson) notes there already have been sea-level rises in Maryland."
She should know that Florida today agrees with her about sea-level rises
Doom-and-gloom maps show Cape Canaveral would go under.
But at the current rate of sea-level rise in Florida -- 2.3 millimeters a year -- the ocean would take more than 400 years to rise by the 4 feet needed to make that happen, some oceanographers say.

New Report Says Climate Change Irreversible for Next 1,000 Years
From Voice of America:
The study published Tuesday in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences says that even if carbon dioxide emissions are reduced the effects on global temperature could remain high for generations.
Could? Could or on the other hand, could not! As we know, the growth in CO2 follows the rise in temperature. Google- Vostok Ice Core Samples. I'm sick of supplying references and these clowns just post their lies. The Fools
The study led by researchers at the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says that possible climate changes include global sea level rise and reduced rainfall in certain parts of the world.
Possible - not definite, only possible, or maybe, possibly NOT!
Scientists said those changes could decrease water supplies, increase the frequencies of fires, expand deserts and affect agriculture.
Could decrease water supplies, increase the frequencies of fires, expand deserts and affect agriculture. Or, then again, Maybe Not. Bloody alarmists will not actually make a definite statement, but by their inferences, doom and gloom. If it doesn't happen (and I guarantee that it won't) well, they will say we didn't say it WILL happen!
"In the past five years Greenland has been melting at rates that are higher than they consider in this paper, and it's been adding about 0.5 millimeters per year to sea level rise," he said.
Well, Sorry. Greenland's Glacier has been growing since 2005 - I can post the references, but these clowns should not be telling porkies.

Is Penny Wong or Right (2)
Penny Wong on 4BC:
"The consensus science is that climate change is occurring."
Well, sorry, Penny, Science doesn't work on "Consensus." and if it did, look at petitionproject.org and the more than 31,000 scientists that do not believe in AGW. I'll take your consensus and raise you...
"What I say is, have a look at what the IPCC said – that is not a radical group…"
Pardon, that biased and disgraced POLITICAL body???
When asked about the 31000 of the petition project, she, as usual dodged the question and answered "and... and... and I... to be honest with you.. think that most Australians do have a view that this is real ..."
Have you seen recent polling, Penny... oh yes, of course you have. Don't tell porkies!
"Are you willing to take the risk in terms of the reef, in terms of all of the economic impact of climate change. We see this as an economic responsibility issue."
I say- Ms Wong, Are YOU willing to initiate a CRIPPLING carbon (Dioxide) tax (aka ETS- aka Penny's new HAT [hot air tax])
on an unproven theory which is slowly sliding into oblivion?

DOOM! 4 years left - Last Chance- Jim Hansen
After making doom and gloom predictions for years, (we should all be dead by now) Jim Hansen has made another.
Mark this date - Sunday 18 January 2009.
'We have only four years left to act on climate change - America has to lead' Quote from Hansen.
"(Obama's) four-year administration offers the world a last chance to get things right, Hansen said. If it fails, global disaster - melted sea caps, flooded cities, species extinctions and spreading deserts - awaits mankind."
melted sea caps?? Does this mean melted ice caps when both poles have more ice now than 1980?
Flooded cities?? A paper by Cazenave et al (http://sciences.blogs.liberation.fr/home/files/Cazenave_et_al_GPC_2008.pdf) can be summarised as follows :
since 2003, sea level has continued to rise but with a rate (2.5+/-0.4 mm/yr) somewhat reduced compared to the 1993-2003 decade (3.1+/-0.4mm/yr).
So, at the rate of the latest decade, the rise over a full century would be ~254mm or,even by using the previous decade's rate, over a full century the rise would be ~310mm.
Less than a third of a metre, around one foot in the old currency!
How many cities will be flooded in the next 100 years? Even more importantly, Mr Hansen, how many cities will be flooded in the NEXT FOUR YEARS?

Sea level rises slows
In a recent paper issued by the Australian Department of Environment and Climate Change "Sea Level Rise: Challenges for Coastal Zone Manager - Phil Watson:
An extract "current estimates lean toward 1m at 2100."
However, in a paper by Cazenave et al (Link in title)
This can be summarised as follows : since 2003, sea level has continued to rise but with a rate (2.5+/-0.4 mm/yr) somewhat reduced compared to the 1993-2003 decade (3.1+/-0.4mm/yr).
So, at the rate of the latest decade, the rise over a full century would be ~254mm or,even by using the previous decade's rate, over a full century the rise would be ~310mm.
Less than a third of the Department's estimate.
