Thomas Friedman, a New York Times journalist and three-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize spoke Wednesday at Ball State University.
Two years ago, when Friedman met Al Gore, he told the former vice president he should write a newspaper column with the following lead: "I'm sorry. I apologize. "
This is the only thing Mr. Friedman got right. He also said:
Mother Nature is a lot like us. If your temperature rises just a few degrees, you get sick. If it rises a few more degrees, you go to the hospital.
That may be so, Tommy, but historical records show that during the Medieval Warm period when the world was warmer than today there was a period of great wealth. So, although you say: If your temperature rises just a few degrees, you get sick, if the world's temperature rises just a few degrees, the world gets better!
The Rudd government lied and lied to gain power and then his lurching from disaster to disaster was so bad that his party axed him. Julia Gillard succeeded and since has lurched from disaster to disaster and lied and lied. Present and past lurches and lies will be recorded here

Despite the hot air, the Antarctic is not warming up
Christopher Booker in the UK telegraph says "A deeply flawed new report will be cited ad nauseam by everyone from the BBC to Al Gore."
Antarctica has long been a major embarrassment to the warmists. Al Gore and co may have wanted to scare us that the continent which contains 90 per cent of all the ice on the planet is heating up, because that would be the source of all the meltwater which they claim will raise sea levels by 20 feet. However, to provide all their pictures of ice-shelves "the size of Texas" calving off into the sea, they have had to draw on one tiny region of the continent, the Antarctic Peninsula – the only part that has been warming.
Actually they had to rely on fake computer generated footage -http://talbyv.blogspot.com/2009/01/gore-fraud-fake-footage-in-inconvenient.html
One of the first to express astonishment was Dr Kevin Trenberth, a senior scientist with the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and a convinced believer in global warming, who wryly observed "it is hard to make data where none exists". A disbelieving Ross Hayes, an atmospheric scientist who has often visited the Antarctic for Nasa, sent Professor Steig a caustic email (http://icecap.us/index.php/go/they-said-it/with_statistics_you_can_make_numbers_go_to_almost_any_conclusion_you_want_i/) ending: "with statistics you can make numbers go to any conclusion you want. It saddens me to see members of the scientific community do this for media coverage."
But it was also noticed that among the members of Steig's team was Michael Mann, author of the "hockey stick", the most celebrated of all attempts by the warmists to rewrite the scientific evidence to promote their cause.
The World was much warmer during the Mediaeval Warm Period. Dr David Deming has confirmed to me that he was told in an email from one of the IPCC lead authors that they had to get rid of the MWP. Subsequently Mann, Bradley and Hughes produced the fraudulent "hockey stick." Steve McIntyre fed in telephone numbers and it still produced the same graph!

The IPCC can't count by John McLean
John McLean disputes the often quoted "4000 scientists from the IPCC supported the claims about a significant human influence on climate."
In a well-researched document he trawls through the names and finally reduces the number to 60.
His summary:
"This document has shown that yet another statement by the IPCC is unsupported by solid evidence. Not only was the IPCC dishonest about the level of support for its primary claim, either deliberately or through allowing an ambiguity to be misinterpreted, but it couldn't even get its number of authors and reviewers correct.
If the IPCC cannot provide an accurate count of authors, reviewers and the people who acted in both roles for its report then we probably should be asking what, if any, of its statements can be believed."
They told Dr Deming they had to get rid of the MWP, they produced the fraudulent "hockey-stick" graph that indeed got rid of the MWP, now it has been shown that they cheated on their numbers of people.
Indeed John, what, if any, of its statements can be believed?

Pre-industrial Co2 levels about the same as today
Tim Ball in Canadian Free Press: Dec 10th, 2008.
"Proponents of human induced warming and climate change told us that an increase in CO2 precedes and causes temperature increase. They were wrong.
They told us the late 20th century was the warmest on record. They were wrong.
They told us, using the infamous "hockey stick" graph, the Medieval Warm Period (MWP) did not exist. They were wrong.
They told us Arctic Ice would continue to decrease in area through 2008. They were wrong.
They told us October 2008 was the second warmest on record. They were wrong, it was 1934.
They told us current atmospheric levels of CO2 are the highest on record. They were wrong."
The IPCC - how wrong can they get?
I want my money back!
