Well, yes Peter. Climate change is happening, it was ever thus.
Prof. Adams noted that some of the skeptics have seemingly impressive credentials, but illustrated how nefarious their tactics can be by using a powerful analogy involving the statue of Venus de Milo:
"The scientist would say that the Venus de Milo is a statue of a woman, whereas the skeptic would say 'A woman has arms, and this statue has no arms; therefore, it's not certain that this is a statue of a woman, and it can't be proven as such until the arms are found.'"
OK, take the statue as a symbol of global warming. A woman has warmth, and this statue has no warmth; therefore, it's not certain that this is a statue of a global warming, and it can't be proven as such until the warmth is found.'"
Get rid of this stupid, deceptive title of Climate change and get back to the original global warming or is it that the warming scientists are against both warming and cooling.

Looks like the White House (NOW) is not interested in evidence. Kevin Rudd, Penny Wong, Malcolm Turnbull all agree NOT to look at the evidence.

Give global warming sceptics a voice
Very interesting article in the Atlanta JC by J Winston Power
"The “science is settled” side is pushing massive plans in Congress to reduce carbon dioxide. But the science is not settled. If it were, we would have great confidence in all these statements:
1. The world is getting warmer.
2. That’s more bad than good.
3. Humans are causing the warming.
4. We know how to fix the problem.
We-ell, Is the world getting warmer. It warmed as it came out of the little ice age around 1850. During the 20th Century it warmed about 0.6ºC and from 2007 to 2008 it cooled by o.6ºC. In fact the world has been cooling since Al Gore's 41 Inconveniet Lies movie was released.

The Warming Alarmist and the Flasher
I'm ashamed to admit this, however, my uncle is a flasher. He's getting on and, as all us enlightened people know Winters are getting colder. He said to me: "You know, Taluka, it's getting harder (no pun intended) as the cold gets stronger."
I replied: "Why don't you give it away?" Uncle said: "I'll stick it out for another year."
I was wondering about the Global Warming Alarmists. As the Globe cools they can only say it is "noise" for so long. The world is making it harder for them. How long will they stick it out?
When the truth comes out, scientists reputations will be down the bottom with Politicians and Used Car salesmen.

Geo-Engineering Dreams in "The Australian"
In an almost surreal article in the Australian by Jonathan Leake and Richard Woods dated March 16, 2009 some weird statements were made:
1. "....:unless emissions of greenhouse gases fall within five years"
After 20 years of research, the IPCC have not shown that greenhouse gases (mainly CO2) cause any rise in temperature.
2 Chairman of the working group John Shepherd said: "Our study aims to separate the science from the science fiction and offer recommendations on which options deserve serious consideration."
Welll, Mr Shepherd, you could start with the ice core samples from world scientists which show that the rise in CO2 FOLLOWS the rise in temperature. You could also check the fact from the samples that a concentration of 288ppmvCo2 at various times in history accompanied both rising and falling temperatures
3 Professor Launder thinks extracting carbon from the atmosphere would be too slow to prevent significant warming. In his view "the only rational scheme is to reduce the amount of sunlight reaching Earth and to reflect back more of it".
So, it's the sun that causes warming and not CO2. Actually we have been without sunspot activity for a while now and have had almost 11 years of global cooling. Is Professor Launder laundering the CO2 theory?

Andes Glaciers Advancing; Global Warming is over
On the American Daily web site, an opinion piece by Gregory J Romano who has an MS in Chemistry. Some extracts:

Despite the ‘consensus’ of scientists that we are told agree that global warming is a fact, I observed more snow on the mountains, the glaciers had seemingly grown in size, and the climate had become noticeably cooler. The locals—virtually all of them farmers—confirmed this."
"Murdock quotes from a letter written to British members of Parliament last October from Imperial College of London astrophysicist and long range forecaster Piers Corbyn: “Global Warming is over, and Global Warming Theory has failed. Penny - Look at this
Steven Goddard has posted a graph showing CO2 rises lags behind temperature rise on Anthony Watts award winning blog Watts up With That?
Consider the earth 14,000 years ago. CO2 levels were around 200 ppm and temperatures, at 6C below present values, were rising fast. Now consider 30,000 years ago. CO2 levels were also around 200 ppm and temperatures were also about 6C below current levels, yet at that time the earth was cooling. Exactly the same CO2 and temperature levels as 14,000 years ago, but the opposite direction of temperature change. CO2 was not the driver.

A parched, Scorched Story in the Australian
From an article in today's (18/2/09) Australian by CLIVE MCALPINE AND JUSTIN RYAN
1. If the Australian Government's climate policy remains unchanged, the devastating bushfires which swept Victoria on Saturday, February 7, will become more frequent.
As responsible journalists, on what do you base this statement?
2. Without urgent action to reduce global greenhouse emissions, the landscapes of south-eastern Australia will become drier and hotter and more prone to catastrophic fires.
As responsible journalists, on what do you base this statement? Co2 emissions promote plant growth! Won't plant growth promote more rain and therefore wetter rather than drier?
3. The Government's current policy response to climate change needs to do more to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Why?
Native forests and woodlands moderate climate fluctuations by recycling moisture back into the atmosphere as well as cooling the land surface. The net effect is a cooler and more moist landscape.
Right! See response to #2 above.
Land and Water Australia recently funded joint research by the University of Queensland and the Queensland Climate Change Centre of Excellence to model the impact of historical land-cover change on Australia's climate. Their findings suggested it was too simplistic to attribute climate change solely to greenhouse gases.

Like the IPCC Assessment Reports (as opposed to the backing details) all sorts of "could," "possibly," "might".....

But, with respect, Mr Field, you do not as yet have data linking Greenhouse gases with Global Warming despite Billions spent over twenty years.
In fact, your flat-earth society IPCC has ignored, or chosen to not take into calculations, the Ice-Core samples that show that rise in CO2 follows temperature rise.
The next report, which he will oversee, is due in 2014 and will now include future scenarios where warming is more serious than previous reports have suggested.
Will; you even issue AR5 if there has not been warming for 16 years?

Gore Hearing Put on Ice - Drudge report.
Because there is a winter storm watch in Washington, the drudge reports states that "But Mother Nature seems ready to freeze Al Gore's scheduled hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday morning to once again testify on the 'urgent need' to combat global warming."

This morning, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton announced that (Todd) Stern will be the special envoy for climate change.
"With the appointment today of a special envoy, we are sending an unequivocal message that the United States will be energetic, focused, strategic and serious about addressing global climate change and the corollary issue of clean energy," Clinton said at the announcement.
"Containing climate change will require nothing less than transforming the global economy from a high-carbon to a low-carbon energy base. But done right, this can free us from our dependence on foreign oil and become a driver for economic growth in the 21st century," Stern said after Clinton spoke.
How about proving a causal link between carbon (Dioxide) and Climate Change before going off half cocked!

Gore Fraud! Fake footage in inCONvenient truth
With all the talk around at the moment of Antarctica warming/Cooling, I thought it was time to revisit one of Al Gore's Fake moments in his "..CON....... Truth" Movie
On Friday April 18th, 2008' it was revealed by ABC News(US) that one of the famous shots of supposed Antarctic ice shelves in the film was actually a computer-generated image from the 2004 science fiction blockbuster "The Day After Tomorrow." Adding delicious insult to injury, this was presented by one of ABC's foremost global warming alarmists Sam Champion during Friday's "20/20":'

On Friday April 18th, 2008' it was revealed by ABC News(US) that one of the famous shots of supposed Antarctic ice shelves in the film was actually a computer-generated image from the 2004 science fiction blockbuster "The Day After Tomorrow." Adding delicious insult to injury, this was presented by one of ABC's foremost global warming alarmists Sam Champion during Friday's "20/20":'

How the world was bullied into silence

One of the most disturbing aspects of the global warming scam is the number of prominent people and entire segments of society bullied into silence.
He described the case of ex NASA employee Dr. Joanne Simpson (the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology)
who said“Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical...The main basis of the claim that man’s release of greenhouse gases is the cause of the warming is based almost entirely upon climate models."

"Hansen must know that if the cooling trend continues, as many scientists anticipate, he is in a dangerous position. When a bureaucrat convinces a politician of a scientific position, as Hansen has so forcefully done with Gore and Obama, and they make it a major part of their political positions he is on a treadmill. He has to keep spinning the story and avoid the facts while increasing the threats. Further, Hansen must make sure political actions he advocates, such as carbon taxes, must be implemented before more cooling occurs and Obama’s four-year term ends. "
Gore will still push because of his trade in carbon credits. Obama, almost freezing at his inauguration might already be changing his mind. Well worth reading from link in title.

Global Warming’s Last Gasp

In a hysterical report, "Obama left with little time to curb global warming," AP writer Seth Borenstein warned that global warming "is a ticking time bomb that President-elect Barack Obama can't avoid."
"How can this guy call himself a ‘science reporter?’” asked David Deming of the University of Oklahoma. "He is perhaps the worst propagandist in all the media, and that's stating something. In his latest screed, he screams: 'global warming is accelerating.'
“How then does he explain the fact that the mean global temperature [as measured by satellite] is the same as it was in 1980? How can global warming be 'accelerating' when the last two years have seen dramatic cooling? Is this guy totally removed from all reality? He completely ignores any evidence contrary to his personal beliefs, and twists everything to meet his preconceived notions."

Richard S. Courtney, a U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) expert reviewer and a U.K.-based climate and atmospheric science consultant snorted, "Rubbish! Global warming is not 'accelerating.' Global warming has stopped. There has been no statistically significant rise in [mean global temperature or MGT] since 1995 and MGT has fallen since 1998 . . .
"Arctic ice advances and recedes over decades. 2007 saw a minimum in Arctic ice cover in the short period that it has been monitored using satellites. But 2008 saw the most rapid growth in Arctic ice cover in that same period and Arctic ice cover is now back to the average it has had in the period.
“Also, 95 percent of polar ice is in the Antarctic, and Antarctic ice is increasing. Nobody can know if the recent halt to global warming is temporary, permanent, or the start of a new warming or cooling phase. But it is certain that anybody who proclaims that 'Global warming is accelerating' is a liar, a fool, or both."
