David K still lies away! Blown Away

In an article by David K. (Is his last name potassium?)

Headed: More lies by Climate Denialists.

Starting from the title, what a stupid statement! Is there anyone who denies that there is climate. Good Heavens, K, wake up and smell the roses.

I think he means Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) Denialists. I proudly stick my hand up.

Then he says "The truth: There is a scientific consensus based on decades of research. And every major scientific organization in the world agrees." Another stupid statement. True scientists push and probe at any hypothesis. AGW is an unproven hypothesis. Scientific Consensus is an oxymoron. Hey K! Have a look at petitionproject.org and count the more than 31,000 US Scientists that don't agree with your "consensus." Myth busted. Truth one is a lie!

Shot down, clown.

The truth: There really are only a handful of scientists that are most often cited, and they are all associated with free market lobbying groups whose mission it is to deny anything that might result in regulations they don't like.

31000 is just a few more than a handful. The handful is on the AGW alarmist side and they are all on the public purse. Oh Dear, K. Another blown away!

I couldn't be bothered to go beyond that. Surely you would start with your strongest points first and they have all been blown out of the water.

Don't worry. old deKay. All will out soon! The US chamber of commerce is out to expose the sham scam:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, trying to ward off potentially sweeping federal emissions regulations, is pushing the Environmental Protection Agency to hold a rare public hearing on the scientific evidence for man-made climate change.

Chamber officials say it would be "the Scopes monkey trial of the 21st century" -- complete with witnesses, cross-examinations and a judge who would rule, essentially, on whether humans are warming the planet to dangerous effect.

The proposed finding has drawn more than 300,000 public comments. Many of them question scientists' projections that rising temperatures will lead to increased mortality rates, harmful pollution and extreme weather events such as hurricanes.

In light of those comments, the chamber will tell the EPA in a filing today that a trial-style public hearing, which is allowed under the law but nearly unprecedented on this scale, is the only way to "make a fully informed, transparent decision with scientific integrity based on the actual record of the science."

McKibben outlines climate change effects -NOT

The Lexington Global warming action coalition posted their first three misconceptions.
Boy, are they misconceptions!

Their first, correctly titled
1. Scientists are divided

Consensus is a word that scientist don't own. By its very nature, Science questions everything, but having said that, the US senate lists 650 scientist that are sceptical to the IPCC view:
http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Files.View&FileStore_id=83947f5d-d84a-4a84-ad5d-6e2d71db52d9

31,072 American scientists, including 9,021 with PhDs, have signed this petition, found at
http://www.petitionproject.org/

acknowledging that they are sceptics

Whilst the IPCC ARIV was produced by less than 100 scientists mainly without peer-review and disregarding dissenting opinion from some of the writers.

Lexington's second point, correctly titled

2. We have time
Starts The melting Arctic ice will help speed up global warming.
Except the Arctic ice is a great as it was in 1980, the Antarctic Ice volume is growing and Greenland permafrost is growing, so, yes, We have time.

The third point is so stupid, I won't bother to address it!

Is Penny Wong or Right (2)

Penny Wong on 4BC:
"The consensus science is that climate change is occurring."

Well, sorry, Penny, Science doesn't work on "Consensus." and if it did, look at petitionproject.org and the more than 31,000 scientists that do not believe in AGW. I'll take your consensus and raise you...

"What I say is, have a look at what the IPCC said – that is not a radical group…"

Pardon, that biased and disgraced POLITICAL body???

When asked about the 31000 of the petition project, she, as usual dodged the question and answered "and... and... and I... to be honest with you.. think that most Australians do have a view that this is real ..."

Have you seen recent polling, Penny... oh yes, of course you have. Don't tell porkies!

"Are you willing to take the risk in terms of the reef, in terms of all of the economic impact of climate change. We see this as an economic responsibility issue."

I say- Ms Wong, Are YOU willing to initiate a CRIPPLING carbon (Dioxide) tax (aka ETS- aka Penny's new HAT [hot air tax])
on an unproven theory which is slowly sliding into oblivion?

Climate Change Reality Check

By Glen Meakem Sunday, January 25, 2009 Pittsburgh Live.com

One year ago, I believed that man-made global warming was true, with temperatures rising dangerously due to increasing levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) in our atmosphere. I also believed that a consensus of the international scientific community supported these conclusions.

I based these beliefs on information from the popular press, television and political leaders. Then I began some real research on the topic.

I quickly discovered three critical things:
• First, the Earth has experienced significant warming over the past 18,000 years that has nothing to do with human activity.
• Second, more recent temperature variations demonstrate that there is little or no correlation between levels of atmospheric CO2 and temperature.
• And third, there is no "consensus" among scientists on climate change.

A reality check by Glen Meakem - what we need is a reality check by the IPCC now that warming has paused/stopped.
