Science 101: Put an ice cube in a glass of water, mark the level and check the level after the ice has melted.

Sell your seaside Australian Property Now!
At Port Arthur, this published paper - below - estimates an ocean rise of 1mm per year.
Well, I'm not much with figures, but I think that means 100mm in a century.(4 inches)
At WA's Fremantle - 1.6mm pa or 160 mm in a century. (6 inches)
Fort Denison (Sydney Harbour) 1.2 mm per year or 120mm per century. (under 5 inches)
For Australians and other metric countrymen, who are not sure on the imperial measurements, 6 inches is half a foot. Al Gore’s movie ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ says sea levels could rise up to 20 feet. Is this true? Forty times greater than the above!

When combined
with the estimates of land uplift given above, this yields an estimate of average sea level rise at this location due to an increase in the volume of the oceans of 1.0 ± 0.3 mm/year. This is at the lower end of the range of global average sea level rise for the 20th century (1–2 mm/year) given by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change [Church et al., 2001]. If it is assumed that most of this sea level rise occurred since about 1890 (the indication from long tidal records from elsewhere; Woodworth, 1999), then the corresponding estimates of rise (1890 to the present) relative to the land, and due to an increase in the volume of the oceans, become 1.2 ± 0.2 mm/year and 1.4 ± 0.3 mm/ year, respectively.
9. Discussion
[13] The above estimates of sea level rise due to an increase in the volume of the oceans may be compared with recent estimates for the two longest (continuous) Australian records. Fremantle (32 30 S, 115 440 E; 91 years to 1996) and Fort Denison (33 510 S, 151 140 E; 82 years to 1997) showed rates of rise of 1.6 and 1.2 mm/year, respectively, after adjustment for GIA [Lambeck, 2002].

Despite the hot air, the Antarctic is not warming up
Christopher Booker in the UK telegraph says "A deeply flawed new report will be cited ad nauseam by everyone from the BBC to Al Gore."
Antarctica has long been a major embarrassment to the warmists. Al Gore and co may have wanted to scare us that the continent which contains 90 per cent of all the ice on the planet is heating up, because that would be the source of all the meltwater which they claim will raise sea levels by 20 feet. However, to provide all their pictures of ice-shelves "the size of Texas" calving off into the sea, they have had to draw on one tiny region of the continent, the Antarctic Peninsula – the only part that has been warming.

One of the first to express astonishment was Dr Kevin Trenberth, a senior scientist with the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and a convinced believer in global warming, who wryly observed "it is hard to make data where none exists". A disbelieving Ross Hayes, an atmospheric scientist who has often visited the Antarctic for Nasa, sent Professor Steig a caustic email (http://icecap.us/index.php/go/they-said-it/with_statistics_you_can_make_numbers_go_to_almost_any_conclusion_you_want_i/) ending: "with statistics you can make numbers go to any conclusion you want. It saddens me to see members of the scientific community do this for media coverage."
But it was also noticed that among the members of Steig's team was Michael Mann, author of the "hockey stick", the most celebrated of all attempts by the warmists to rewrite the scientific evidence to promote their cause.
The World was much warmer during the Mediaeval Warm Period. Dr David Deming has confirmed to me that he was told in an email from one of the IPCC lead authors that they had to get rid of the MWP. Subsequently Mann, Bradley and Hughes produced the fraudulent "hockey stick." Steve McIntyre fed in telephone numbers and it still produced the same graph!

King Tide and Climate Change
In a disgraceful article in the SMH 10/1/09 a link was made between supposed rise in oceanic waters caused by climate change and the King Tide expected tomorrow(12/1).
Tomorrow's high tide is expected to reach 1.89 metres. Sydney's winter king tide in 1974 reached 2.37 metres. Satellite data have shown world oceans have been FALLING for two years. Last year, the Pasha Bulker was refloated on a hightide of 1.88 metres.
Channel 7 evening news repeated the inference that the King Tide was related to the supposed "climate change."
Why, oh why, don't these journalists check the science before repeating the garbage fed to them by the various climate change offices.
The climate change offices (i.e. political offices) are on the public pad and if they admit the truth that temperatures have been FALLING for 11 years, ocean levels have BEEN falling for two years, public support has also been FALLING, they really would have to shut themselves down.
The sooner we wake up to this disgraceful hoax foisted on us by James Hansen and the discredited IPCC the better our taxation purses will be.
